Strip oak hardwood flooring is a standard lumberyard product. But if you're dealing with an historic restoration or a custom-built new house with a traditional personality, you may want a floor with more than run-of-the-mill character.

The online supplier lists noted above provide a good cross-section of today's historic and specialty wood floor suppliers. You'll find several dealers in antique wood floors that are created either by recycling old boards or by resawing of heavy timbers salvaged from old warehouses. There are also several sources for wide-board flooring sawn from new pine logs. Additionally, we've included a few suppliers of floor specialties: wood floor grilles, floor finishes and a moisture meter to monitor moisture content in wood floors prior to installation.
